I spent a long time going through all the sites I’ve been bookmarking since I started my “new job” (self-employed, entrepreneur, writer etc) exactly two months ago. I hadn’t been keeping them organized – that was a mistake! So I quickly checked each site, and organized them according to topic(s). . . . → Read More: organizing! … visits with friends … encouragement for my “Novel Under Construction” project

I flipped through the “2010 Christian Writers’ Market Guide” by Sally E Stuart – as I am still of course interested in pursuing writing published in traditional formats (on paper!). I also signed up for Twitter! You can follow me @penandpapermama!
I also continued to work on my . . . → Read More: working on “my business” … checking on, and signing up for, social networking sites…

I just woke up with an epiphany – that’s an . . . → Read More: epiphany: ah-ha moment! Novel Under Construction!

Woke up this morning to discover that it had rained overnight, enough to leave puddles – including little ponds inside hubby’s expensive work shoes (2 pairs) which he had set outside yesterday to “air out” in our beautiful warm dry spring weather. Our little grandson’s “sun shade tent” was also soaked, as was . . . → Read More: puddles, e-groups, fb statuses… and more reading… and tossing to-do lists and following your passions

Then I was thinking about my writing. One of the blogs I was reading yesterday referred to the concept of “morning pages.” I had read Julia Cameron’s book, The Artists’s Way, back in 2001 at the time when my first grandson was born, and I really got into journaling at that . . . → Read More: 5 am musings, part 2: morning pages and other writing-related thoughts

MY WRITING KIT
April 22, 2010
So now it’s nearly bed-time, and I’m tucked into my cozy bed (which often turns out to be one of my most productive writing spots!). I have brought my new “writing kit” with me. It is actually just a magazine file box with the following items in it:

WRITER’S BLOCK… BRAINSTORMING… MIND-MAPPING… STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS
22 April 2010
I moderate a small “writers e-group” and one of the members suggests a single word every couple weeks, which the other members are to take and turn into a poem, story, article, bit of humor, or what-have-you. As the group moderator, I should no doubt set a . . . → Read More: writer’s block… brainstoming… mind-mapping… stream of consciousness
