Questions about “responsibility” … and “right and wrong”…

January 26 (more)

Glorious sunshine… and tiny snowflakes drifting down at the same time! :-)    (and cold! -12 C)

Thoughts while praying…

When we point someone to You (but YOU do the actual bringing, don’t You?!!!) are we then “responsible” to “make sure they follow You”?  … no, we are to disciple them… but it is You that grows them.. if we try to actually do the growing ourselves, that’s where “control” and “legalism” and stuff like that starts to take over… eh?!??

Wondering about that phrase, “all things to all people” … and thinking around “right and wrong” … like “thou shalt not drink alcohol” (or whatever…) … and how do we know?  Do we just make a long list of “thou shalt not’s” covering every base we can think of, “just in case”???  How do we “interpret” what detail is “right or wrong” in a given circumstance or situation (outside of those that Your Word clearly dictates, and of course seeking to live within the great command to “love the Lord Your God with all your heart and strength and soul and mind, and your neighbor as yourself” which pretty much covers the rest., but itself is difficult for our human minds to even try to comprehend, never mind interpret “in detail”)  (oh boy, I’m confusing myself even more!)  The answer has to be by Your Spirit – You, who know all things and all people – leading us at all times – “interpreting” Your principles (Your character) in every circumstance and situation and relationship in our lives, right then and there – otherwise, we just get caught right up in “legalism” (or in false “freedom”- which itself is just going back into serving ourselves… and the enemy!)

……

Oh!  I just watched a program on TV about dyslexia – made me want to get into helping kids with LD again…
