small to men, great to God

1 July 2010

I was discouraged today because I have felt that almost no one is responding to my writing, especially my writing that is related to You.

And I am feeling quite alone in regards to coming out of “structural/ institutional” church, at least here in this community.

And then I was just sitting . . . → Read More: small to men, great to God

Getting back into my routine – perhaps?

GETTING BACK INTO MY ROUTINE – PERHAPS?

15 – 16 June 2010

Arrived Penticton on bus 9:35 am. Hubby picked me up. We went home and I unpacked, then I fell into bed and slept till about 2 pm! There is nothing like one’s own comfy bed!

After I got up, I cleaned house. Ha! . . . → Read More: Getting back into my routine – perhaps?

looking out for myself when I think I’m living for You…

More from 66 Love Letters by Larry Crabb.

I’ve made all those notes for my “business” … now I feel that I must – I am compelled – to go back through them and see (and record) them in terms of You at the center – Your holiness, Your love, Your purpose.

The 66 . . . → Read More: looking out for myself when I think I’m living for You…

found my core!!!

30 May 2010

66 Love Letters by Larry Crabb.

“That early morning I saw myself as I really am, a mere Christian, a hungry follower of Jesus who desperately wants to hear whatever God is telling me, a man [woman!] in misery who wants only one thing, not relief from misery (although that would be nice), . . . → Read More: found my core!!!

What to do about all life’s “unexpected distractions” ??

May 28, 2010

In the past half dozen or so days, I’ve found myself being caught between my plans (my writing, what I really want to be doing) and a lot of unexpected “distractions.”

Or are they really distractions? What do you do when life throws all kinds of surprises in your path? Especially . . . → Read More: What to do about all life’s “unexpected distractions” ??

learning, getting inspired … but not much doing :-(

May 28, 2010

What have I been doing learning-wise and business-wise in the past few days?

- Catch up on google reader and igoogle postings
- Lots of key-note taking (summarizing the endless notes I’ve been taking, and listing them under specific topics in my “inspiration” file!)

a very adventurous day!

19 May 2010

What an adventurous day! First hubby comes home and announces he is leaving his job – and then he gets an interview for another one in just a couple days – and some on-call work tonight with promise of lots more… And so I helped him find his old resumes and update . . . → Read More: a very adventurous day!

organizing! … visits with friends … encouragement for my “Novel Under Construction” project

May 14, 2010 (Friday)

I spent a long time going through all the sites I’ve been bookmarking since I started my “new job” (self-employed, entrepreneur, writer etc) exactly two months ago. I hadn’t been keeping them organized – that was a mistake! So I quickly checked each site, and organized them according to topic(s). . . . → Read More: organizing! … visits with friends … encouragement for my “Novel Under Construction” project

working on “my business” … checking on, and signing up for, social networking sites…

May 13, 2010 (Thursday afternoon)

I flipped through the “2010 Christian Writers’ Market Guide” by Sally E Stuart – as I am still of course interested in pursuing writing published in traditional formats (on paper!). I also signed up for Twitter! You can follow me @penandpapermama!

I also continued to work on my . . . → Read More: working on “my business” … checking on, and signing up for, social networking sites…

“my business” :update

May 5, 2010

I am finding that if I get 9 hours of sleep (which on first consideration, seems like a waste of time), I do wake with more energy: energy that lasts all day instead of crashing mid-afternoon. And combined with eating better food, and my great new shoes….

Wow! I love my new shoes! . . . → Read More: “my business” :update
