found my core!!!

66 Love Letters by Larry Crabb.

“That early morning I saw myself as I really am, a mere Christian, a hungry follower of Jesus who desperately wants to hear whatever God is telling me, a man [woman!] in misery who wants only one thing, not relief from misery (although that would be nice), . . . → Read More: found my core!!!

tendrils – a poem

May 28, 2010

Tendrils.
Elegantly drifting from perfectly upswept hair and
Nestling gently against soft skin.
Delicate green curlicues enbracing garden arbor.
Rustling leaf skeletons dancing in late autumn breeze.
Icy fingers of fog creeping along ragged fence line.
Lonely wispy threads on well-worn woollen scarf.
Silky vines silently suck life from mighty . . . → Read More: tendrils – a poem

epiphany: ah-ha moment! Novel Under Construction!

May 13, 2010

(In case this seems a bit scattered – you have to understand that I wrote most of it between 3:15 and 4:00 am … but after some more sleep, and some serious thinking, and research, and reflection… I am going with it!)

I just woke up with an epiphany – that’s an . . . → Read More: epiphany: ah-ha moment! Novel Under Construction!

puddles, e-groups, fb statuses… and more reading… and tossing to-do lists and following your passions

April 27, 2010

Woke up this morning to discover that it had rained overnight, enough to leave puddles – including little ponds inside hubby’s expensive work shoes (2 pairs) which he had set outside yesterday to “air out” in our beautiful warm dry spring weather. Our little grandson’s “sun shade tent” was also soaked, as was . . . → Read More: puddles, e-groups, fb statuses… and more reading… and tossing to-do lists and following your passions

5 am musings, part 2: morning pages and other writing-related thoughts

April 25, 2010

Then I was thinking about my writing. One of the blogs I was reading yesterday referred to the concept of “morning pages.” I had read Julia Cameron’s book, The Artists’s Way, back in 2001 at the time when my first grandson was born, and I really got into journaling at that . . . → Read More: 5 am musings, part 2: morning pages and other writing-related thoughts

questioning the gas miracles…

April 25, 2010

So I posted the “Gas Miracle” story to the on-line writers group, in response to the “gas” challenge… and got an interesting response:

“I read it with interest Norma. Once we get more people into these, you will see what a difference it makes to everyone’s writing. I’ll be sending my next assignment on a . . . → Read More: questioning the gas miracles…

the “gas” word challenge: “Gas miracles!”

April 22, 2010

In the spring of 2001, my first grandson was born. He was two months premature, and spent the first several weeks of his life in hospital. We lived in Keremeos, and every morning I would drive my daughter to the hospital in Penticton so she could be with her little son. . . . → Read More: the “gas” word challenge: “Gas miracles!”

getting distracted!

April 22, 2010

I am finding it way too easy to…

- get distracted by family needs, wishes, demands. Some are really legitimate but with others I need to put my foot down and say “Sorry, no!”

- get distracted by TV. It’s often going on in the background (my hubby loves TV). And then I have this . . . → Read More: getting distracted!

I need to get my writing business organized!

I NEED TO GET MY WRITING BUSINESS ORGANIZED!

April 22, 2010

I am thinking I really need to get more organized.

First of all, I need to jot things down the moment I think of them. The old memory isn’t as self-sticky-noted as it used to be! What do I need to make note of?

- story . . . → Read More: I need to get my writing business organized!

my writing kit

MY WRITING KIT

April 22, 2010

So now it’s nearly bed-time, and I’m tucked into my cozy bed (which often turns out to be one of my most productive writing spots!). I have brought my new “writing kit” with me. It is actually just a magazine file box with the following items in it:
